When Instant Success Takes a Few Decades

So here’s the thing—sometimes movements explode overnight… and sometimes they take about twenty years and a lot of motorbike breakdowns, pho (beef noodle soup), and divine grace.

Recently, my good friend and fellow co-laborer in the Great Commission hustle, Steve Addison, spent time with me in Asia. This story can be read and heard on Steve’s blog and podcast at Movements.net. We talked about the early days in a tiny Communist country, the heartbreak and miracles, and what it really looks like when we trust God for multiplication—not just addition.

Steve’s been one of those rare voices who keeps pointing us back to the simple power of Jesus, the Word, the Spirit, and a whole lotta obedience. I was honored to have him see the work, hear the stories, eat the spicy foods and document some of the behind-the-scenes grit from the journey.

Whether you’ve been in the trenches or are just wondering what this movement thing is all about, I hope it stirs your faith and reminds you that God’s not in a rush—but He’s always on the move.
